Hey everyone!!

It’s been wayyyy too long since I’ve posted an update on here, and I apologize for that! Life is crazy!

With that being said, in case you were wondering, my gap year is not cancelled! Despite the craziness of Covid still being a thing, my squad and I are still able to go forward with plans for the fall — even though things won’t look like we expected!

On September 2nd, my family will drop me off in Gainesville, Georgia, at the Adventures in Missions headquarters. Due to Covid, our international launch is delayed until January 2021; instead, we are staying stateside for the first three months. This time will be spent studying the Bible, missions, and leadership. My squad and I will be building Christ-like community together and preparing mentally, physically, and spiritually for the mission field. All of this is able to take place while following the required Covid-19 prevention measures.

I am so excited and nervous and expectant for this time! I would ask that you’d consider joining me in prayer for everything coming up so soon! I need your prayer support right now more than ever!

I’d also like to thank everyone so much for all the financial support so far! I am currently $7,490 fundraised — 47% of my total $15,800 goal, and only $10 away from reaching the amount I need so I can leave in September! My next deadline is $10,000 by October 15th. Because the cost of living is higher in the U.S., we still need to raise the same amount of money as we did previously. However, I have faith and I am fully expectant in God’s provision — through your partnership, He’s already gotten me this far, and I know He won’t stop now!

Thank you for reading! 2020 isn’t cancelled. God is going to do amazing things. Through all my doubts and uncertainties, God has provided, and He will continue to do so!

Stay tuned for more updates, and feel free to subscribe to my blog with an email or phone number so you can stay up to date with any new posts! You can also follow my Instagram page @travelswithshanan to see what I’m up to as I embark on this journey! Thank you again, and God bless!
